Home for the Holidays

Holiday Safety

More than ever, the holidays are a time to reflect on the past year, and connect with loved ones. We’re here to help make this season one filled with joy and wonder as you gather around the table, warm by the fire, or just take the stress away with a relaxing evening. Here are a few ways to stay safe at home as you enjoy the holidays.

Holiday Hearth Safety

When hanging your garland and/or your stockings, follow recommended clearances for your fireplace.

Don’t forget, the exterior of your fireplace can get hot when in operation – be cautious.

Your natural gas logs are designed to operate following manufacturer’s instructions and should be placed as specified.

If you’re operating vented natural gas logs, remember to keep your chimney damper open and free of obstruction.

Holiday Cooking Safety

Use an exhaust fan that vents to the outside when cooking.

Keep your pan handles facing toward the cooking surface and away from the edge of the range.

Keep paper goods, dish towels, clothing, oven mitts, and other flammable items away from cooking surfaces.

If a burner goes out, turn it off, wait several minutes, and then relight it.

Turn off burners when not in use.

Never attempt to use an oven or range to heat your home.

If you’re grilling, keep your natural gas grill outside.

Open your grill lid prior to turning on the gas, and prior to lighting the grill.

Enjoy the Holidays

Even if this year’s holiday will be spent at home with your immediate family, our hope for you this season is that this time be filled with warmth, love, and health in your home. Thank you for allowing us to serve you!
