En Southeast Gas, creemos en el poder de la educación y en el reconocimiento a los estudiantes que retribuyen. Es por eso que ofrecemos la Beca de Servicio Comunitario, que se otorga anualmente a los estudiantes del último año de la escuela secundaria que demuestran un fuerte compromiso con el liderazgo, los estudios y el servicio comunitario.
En 2025, concedimos con orgullo 25 becas a estudiantes destacados de toda nuestra área de servicio del sureste de Alabama.

Applicants to the Southeast Gas Community Service Scholarship program must meet all of the following criteria:
- Must have participated in community service work or volunteer activities;
- Must be currently enrolled in a public high school served by Southeast Gas;
- Must be a U.S. resident, age 20 or under;
- Must have a cumulative high school grade point average between 2.50 and 4.00 on a 4.00 scale (or the equivalent)—emphasis will be placed on community service leadership activities; and
- Must be accepted as a full-time student at an accredited university, college or technical school prior to scholarship award.
- Up to twenty-five (25) selected recipients will receive a $2,000 award. (Only one recipient will be selected from each of the 25 public high schools currently served by Southeast Gas.)
- Awards are one-time only and are not renewable.
- Awards are for undergraduate study only.
- Applicants must complete and return the three-page application no later than March 6, 2026.
- Applicants must submit a 300-500 word essay as part of the scholarship application packet.
- Applicants may include a resume in addition to completing the application, but a resume is not required to apply.
- Applicants must submit a complete high school transcript as part of the scholarship application packet. Be sure to use the Guidance Counselor Form.
- Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation (one from an instructor at applicant’s current high school, and one from a member of the community).
- An application is not considered complete until each of these items is received. To be considered for selection, completed applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. on March 6, 2026.
- Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of participation in community service activities and volunteer service work, academic grade point average, standardized test scores, financial need and the content of a 300-500 word essay.
- All information received is considered confidential. Decisions are final and are not subject to appeal. The program is competitive; not all applicants will be selected as recipients.
- Notification is sent on or before April 4, 2026 via U.S. postal mail to scholarship recipients.
- Recipients and their Principal (or Principal’s designee) are encouraged to join Southeast Gas for a recognition program on Thursday, April 23, 2026. (Specific details will be forwarded with scholarship award notification.)
- Recipients must return a completed Scholarship Acceptance Form to Southeast Gas by the indicated deadline.
- Recipients must notify their college, university or vocational-technical school about the award.
- Recipients must notify Southeast Gas of any changes in address, school enrollment, or other relevant information when requested.
- Payment is made in one installment on or before August 1, 2026.
- Southeast Gas issues checks payable to the school.
- Checks are mailed from Southeast Gas to the student’s school of attendance.
