President & CEO

Greg Henderson was appointed Southeast Gas’ President and Chief Executive Officer in 2006. Henderson joined Southeast Gas as Director of Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer in 1998. Prior to joining Southeast Gas, he was employed by PowerSouth Energy for 12 years and PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP in Birmingham for 3 years. He currently serves as Immediate Past Chair of American Public Gas Association (APGA) and on the Boards of Economic Development Partnership of Alabama, Auburn School of Accountancy Alumni Advisory, Easter Seals of Alabama, and CCB Community Bank. He is Past President of Alabama Natural Gas Association, Andalusia Chamber of Commerce, Andalusia Rotary Club, and LBW Community College Foundation. Henderson is Certified Public Accountant, and a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Business Administration/Accounting.

Director of Finance and Administration & CFO

Lori Messick is Southeast Gas’ Director of Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer and is a Certified Public Accountant. She oversees the daily operations of the accounting, auditing, warehouse, accounts payable, payroll, property management and information services areas of the company. She is responsible for financial reporting, credit ratings, long-term debt management and Southeast Gas’ insurance programs. Messick began working with Southeast Gas in 2001 as a General Accountant. She also served in the roles of Accounting Supervisor and Budget and Reporting Manager before assuming her current role with the company in 2016. Messick joined Southeast Gas with 10 years prior accounting experience, as well.

Chief Commercial Officer

Brian Gilliland is Chief Commercial Officer with Southeast Gas and Southeast Energy Authority. Gilliland is responsible for industrial accounts and contract negotiations for those accounts. He oversees the company’s natural gas purchases and the coordination of gas control functions, including gas supply planning and hedging activities and gas scheduling. Prior to joining Southeast Gas, Gilliland worked with Kinder Morgan/Gulf LNG Energy as a Terminal Manager, a position in which he was responsible for managing and directing the 38 employees at Gulf LNG Energy including the maintenance and operations departments at the terminal. He brings 25 years of natural gas experience to his role on the executive team for Southeast Gas.

Interim Chief Operating Officer

Steve Duebelt is the Interim Chief Operating Officer for Southeast Gas. He oversees system operations and maintenance for all Southeast Gas facilities. He is also responsible for the areas of customer experience, meter reading, system service, construction, installation and collections in the Eastern Division. Duebelt joined the company in 1981 as a Meter Technician and served in many operational areas within the company. In 1992, he became Information Services Manager, and remained in that position until accepting the Director of Operations, Eastern Division role in 2006. He assumed his current role in November 2024.

Director of Corporate Services

Shannon Jackson is the Director of Corporate Services for Southeast Gas. She oversees the company’s human resources, safety, sales, communication, and marketing functions. She is a member of the Energy Solutions Center Board of Directors, serves on the American Public Gas Association Research Foundation Board, and is Public Relations chair for the Alabama Natural Gas Association. She joined the company in 1998 as Communication Coordinator, and also served in the roles of Marketing and Communications Manager and Director of Marketing and Communications before assuming her role as Director of Corporate Services in 2022.

Director of Economic Development

Vince Perez is the Director of Economic Development for Southeast Gas, overseeing regional, national, and global initiatives to drive economic growth in Southeast Alabama. With a proven track record, Perez has led projects resulting in over 20,000 new jobs and $15 billion in capital investment. Before joining Southeast Gas in 2022, he advanced from the EDAA Internship to Senior Project Manager at the Alabama Department of Commerce during his 9-year tenure. Perez earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Auburn University in 2013. Actively involved across the Southeast Gas service territory, he serves on local and regional boards, and is an active member of various organizations, including The Montgomery Rotary Club, The Public Affairs Research Council of Alabama, and The Economic Development Association of Alabama.

Director of Community Development

Jimmy Black is the Director of Community Development for Southeast Gas. He directs the community development funding initiatives of the company and works with various organizations across the Southeast Gas service area to promote community growth. Black joined the company in 2004 as a Marketing Representative and later promoted into the roles of Operations Coordinator, Operations Manager, and Director of Operations for the Western Division of the company before accepting his current role in 2022.

Director of Engineering Services

Tyler Wingard, a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Alabama, is the Director of Engineering Services for Southeast Gas. He is responsible for system maintenance, infrastructure routing and design, right of way procurement and maintenance, GIS and system design and modeling. Wingard joined the company in 2011 as an Engineer, and served in progressive roles within the company until he was named Director of Engineering Services in January of 2024.

Director of Operations, Central Division

Terry Barnes, a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Alabama, is the Director of Operations for the Central Division of Southeast Gas. He oversees system operations and maintenance at Southeast Gas facilities in Brundidge, Enterprise, Fort Novosel, Ozark, and Troy, as well as the surrounding communities. He is also responsible for the areas of customer experience, meter reading, system service, construction, installation and collections in the Central Division. Barnes joined the company in 2011 as Superintendent of Operations and served in that capacity until 2013. Prior to his career with Southeast Gas, Barnes worked seven years for CDG Engineers as a Project Engineer/Project Manager.

Director of Operations, Western Division

Russell Holland, a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Alabama, is the Director of Operations for the Western Division of Southeast Gas. He oversees system operations and maintenance at Southeast Gas facilities in Andalusia, Elba, Fort Deposit, Greenville, Luverne, Montgomery, Opelika, Opp, and Pike Road, as well as the surrounding communities. He is also responsible for the areas of customer experience, meter reading, system service, construction, installation and collections in these communities. Holland assumed his current role in November 2024. He joined Southeast Gas in 2023 as Superintendent of Operations for the Western Division. Prior to his career with Southeast Gas, Holland worked 11 years with Southern Engineering Solutions where he served as a Vice President and seven years with CDG Engineers where he served as a Division Manager.

Director of Operations, Eastern Division

Chris Phillips, a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Alabama, is the Director of Operations for the Eastern Division of Southeast Gas. He oversees system operations and maintenance at Southeast Gas facilities in Abbeville, Dothan, Eufaula, and Headland, as well as the surrounding communities. He is also responsible for the areas of customer experience, system service, construction, installation and collections in these communities. Phillips joined Southeast Gas in May 2025. Prior to his career with Southeast Gas, Phillips served as Assistant Director of Electric Operations with Dothan Utilities. He has more than 20 years of experience in various fields, including engineering, construction, maintenance, project management, safety, management, power generation, storm recovery, vegetation management, and utility operations. In addition to his P.E. designation, Phillips is also an Alabama Electrical Contractor and a Certified Utility Safety Professional.
